NAVAN HOTEL - COUNTY MEATH

Povall Worthington were invited to develop a sensitive hotel scheme in an attractive landscape at the edge of Navan town. A mature woodland and an old stone bridge are valuable aspects of the site to be carefully retained.

The architectural design minimises the scale of the building and maximise respect for its surroundings. High quality durable materials are implemented in a modern style. The planes of the main facades allow shadows to 'sculpt' the building. Facilities for visitors and residents are accommodated on the ground level, such as: restaurant, bar, conference, ballroom, leisure and beauty treatment, while the upper levels accommodate over 100 bedrooms.

The landscape design uses earth mounds and planted trees to create interest and mystery. Access to facilities are enhanced and clear, while car parking is tucked away in the corners of the site. It is hoped that this proposal would add a dramatic and significant architectural design to this part of Navan.
