SAVOY CENTRE - GLASGOW

The Savoy Centre is an important built element within Glasgow's city centre. Located at Sauchiehall Street, Hope Street & Renfrew Street, the existing building features two levels of retail and an office tower. Unsightly elements consist of a concrete footbridge, badly weathered concrete facades, and an unsightly communications tower.

Our proposals involve removal of the unsightly elements, a full refurbishment of the existing buildings and new vertical extensions. The vertical blocks contain hotel & office accommodation, joined by a common plinth of retail space at street level. A new attractive urban square will also be created infront of the existing RSAMD.

The new glazed facades feature layers of clean modern lines and elements, which will enhance the street scene and define a specific skyline profile. The new tower will act as a northern gateway to the city centre.
